Over the weekend my mom's side of the family got together to play! Tuesday, we went to Adam's Canyon-- a little canyon in Farmington across from the Surf n Swim watertower. The hike was supposed to be a nice little walk through the woods, along a river to some waterfalls. In reality, we did hike through the woods along a river to some waterfalls but it was anything but "a nice little walk"! We looked it up on Google Earth and the elevation difference from the parking lot to the falls was about 1300 feet!
wooden plank bridge, scramble over a few different sets rocks, walk in the river for a bit, jump over rocks to get from the trail to the falls. The water fall made pool of water that my aunt and cousins played in and we all stood in front of pools because the water spray falling down was sooooo cool and felt sooooo good after hiking for over an hour!My favorite was watching my mom climbing over rocks and trying not to fall on the way down and seeing the valley through tree branches along the path. And of course, just climbing and hiking along with my amazingly wonderful and hilarious family was the absolute best part!! Even the people who gave up along the path because it
was too steep or hard or whatever said they had a good time :) My sister just below me in the family line and another sister's boyfriend, both of whom had recently come from Florida and altitude of about 50 feet had to endure climbing in 4700 feet-- poor people (they didn't make it to the top, surprisingly enough!)
