Yes, I got the blue screen of death on Monday and that ended the life of my lap top's hard drive. And naturally, Murphy's Law would apply and I hadn't backed it up and I lost EVERYTHING.
My department chair at school offered the services of her son-in-law to see if he could retrieve anything, but sadly, oh, so, sadly, it's gone unless I want to pay a ton of money to have someone open it up and get my stuff.
Amazingly, I'm sort of numb to the whole situation and I'm just like, "Well, it's gone, let's move on." The good thing is that most of my pictures are in Snapfish or Facebook or still on my memory cards for my camera. The other stuff, I guess is just gone.
The son-in-law did find me a new hard drive for $65, which totally beats buying a new computer. What I'm most sad about is losing ITunes, though. Darn avoiding backing all that up!
The moral of the story is BACK THE HARD DRIVE UP OFTEN!!!
