Last night I went to the Draper Temple Open House with my group of friends from school. Temple open houses are pretty unique and don't happen all the time so being able to go really is pretty cool! The last one I went to was when the Orlando Temple opened when I was a freshman in high school (I was 15).
This one has a lot of modern touches-- dark wood, white pillars in the banisters, square designs on all the windows. My favorite touches are these amazing chandeliers in a variety of the rooms-- simply breathtaking. The Celestial Room-- or the room that represents being in God's presence-- is seriously one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen that it huge and is framed by an intricate design on the ceiling. This room and a sealing room (the room where couples are married for time and all eternity were my favorites in the building. We got to sit in a sealing room and where I was I could see into the reflecting mirrors (they put huge mirrors on opposite wall so they reflect into each other and you can "see" eternity) and it was a great, quiet, peaceful moment. I'm sort of thinking that I'd like to get married in this temple now...
Temples represent family to me and the great desire most people have to be with their family forever.
