If you build it, he will come
My parents and I got passes from our mortgages broker (Scott Wright of Axiom Financial in Bountiful) to go to the Black Island Farms Harvest Festival in Syracuse Monday night. So, the three of us, the three "little kids" and one of the girl's friends came, too. We had donuts, apple cider, went down a big slide, and experienced the highlight of the evening: getting lost in the corn maze.
Corn mazes are weird places where you are surrounded by tall corn following paths that lead you deeper and deeper into the field and when someone whispers, "If you build it, he will come," you sort of sheepishly giggle thinking that it's just crazy enough to work! We actually played with a lot of "Field of Dreams" references (melting into the corn being a fav!). It was pretty fun dodging mud puddles and going in circles for an hour, but then, your feet get cold, your nose starts to run and you start wondering if you'll escape from the corn.
We ended up cutting through a patch and ended up in a different maze than the one we started, BUT we finally managed to escape!
