Tonight I went to the First Presidency Devotional at the Conference Center with a friend from school and a guy from her ward, who happens to be from Florida! Gotta say, he's one of the most normal guys I've met since being in the Beehive state and I attribute that to his Florida-ness. There's just something about people from Florida that I connect with. Here's hoping he thought I was at least decently cute and worth talking to, even though I had to grab onto him to not slip on the slick SLC streets.
The Christmas Devotional was GREAT and now I feel like I have the Christmas spirit! I loved Elder Uchdorf's statement that we need to "see Christ in Christmas everyday." Great thought! The Tab Choir sang "For Unto Us a Child is Born" from "The Messiah" (one of my all time favs) and "How Far is it to Bethlehem" which reminds me of watching the Church video "Joy to the World" on my mission about a gazillion times during the month of Dec. 04 and is just so pretty with all the lights and pretty pictures. The Conf. Center was gorgeous, as always, with gigantic gold Christmas decor on three gigantic trees and lots of giant red ornaments hanging from the stage corners!
Can I just say, I *heart* Christmas!!
