This year, I came to a new realization of the real reason behind Christmas.
This thought hit me as a was getting onto I-15 to go to Dad's house on Christmas Eve: Joy to the World.
With all the sadness I feel at missing my mom (aka she who made Christmas special), Joy came to the world with the birth of the Savior. With his arrival came also faith that we are the children of a God who loves us, hope that we can live again and assurance that we really can be with our families forever
The simplicity of why that little baby was born 2011 years ago is the greatest joy the world has ever known and why the angels sang:
Hail the Heav'n born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings,
Ris'n with healing in his wings.
