educational consultants who:
~ arrive late to a meeting and then go over by 15 minutes-- especially when those 15 min equal half of lunch.
~ give an objective for their time in the meeting that they never cover-- especially when the WHOLE POINT of their visit was to cover how to make learning objectives better
~ criticize "district people who don't know much and haven't been in schools for a long time" when that's EXACTLY his M.O.
~ ask a question and then refuse to listen to the answer and THEN go on and on and on about how your group does something wrong... and then finds out you do it correctly and doesn't know how to respond
~ throw out un-validated negative statistics about the school and then keep asking how your small group can stop doing the negative action... when none of you actually do it and he has never visited any of your classrooms to actually know better
~ seem surprised when the group he's talking to chime in to back each other up when we start countering everything he just told us we do/don't do
~ keeps saying "If I'm doing all the talking, I'm doing all the learning" and then keeps talking and talking and talking
BAH!!!!!!
Also annoying... the admin over our group shows up for the first time in months and acts like he's there all the time
AGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
If the consultant were to keep probing on why our consultation teams aren't really productive, he might find that it's because we've never had clear guidance about what they should be doing AND we are trying to do too much AND we meet way too much for it to really be beneficial. Most other schools only meet in consultation teams or PLCs about once a week to once a month-- NEVER twice a week!
AGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!
Sorry for the rant! This is what happens without time at lunch to debrief and when trying to tell someone else the phone kept ringing and then they had a conversation until we got to another person's house where we sat and listened to that person talk about life and then by the time we left it was late enough that I had to come home to my empty condo and their phone was dead so I couldn't even call them back.

I don't miss those meetings one little bit!
WOW. Someone is pretty absorbed in his title rather than reality.
