So, Friday night as I was getting ready for bed, I suddenly noticed that there were bright red flashing lights shining into my condo. When I looked out the sliding glass doors I saw 2 SL County Sheriff cars, an ambulance, a fire chief SUV, and a fire truck all parked right in front of my building. Strange. I didn't hear anything, so I went onto my porch and surreptitiously looked out around the bushes and saw a couple of cops talking with someone on the sidewalk and a stretcher waiting with a paramedic. Even stranger. Feeling embarrassed about watching all of this, I slid back inside and sat on my exercise ball and just watched to see what would happen.
I should note here that the neighbors directly across from me are sort of odd-- they only use the sliding glass doors, seem to spend all their time smoking and yelling at one another. Honestly, I wasn't too shocked that there were issues over there and I realized I was more surprised nothing had happened before :)
Anyway, so after a few minutes one cop car left, then a lady was brought out strapped to the stretcher and put into the ambulance. Then, the other cop left, the ambulance left and about 6 firemen were left laughing in the parking lot. Then, after about 5 more minutes, they also left.
Since I never talk to these people, I waited until church today to ask what happened from the lady who lives 2 floors above me. Turns out the girl/lady had a drug overdose! Sheesh! The upstairs lady said she suspects other drug use going on since there are always weird poeple coming and going over there.
One night, last Fall, I woke up around 3am to a couple of women absolutely screaming at one another and swearing up a storm and is sounded like they were also hitting one another. The violence went on for about 20 min. and I could hear the guy above me looking out of his windows, too. Neighbors!!
