on-line dating = pass along cards?

Ok, so, due to some of the changes that have happened in my life over the past few weeks (good friends moving, my leaving the single's ward, school starting, etc.), I have decided to try the whole on-line dating thing. I actually subscribed to Chemistry.com a few months ago, did the little personality test (I'm a builder/negotiator), and filled out what I'm looking for and have actually gotten emails saying guys are interested in me. (that's Weird with a capital W!) I haven't ever done much with it, but tonight I was in a weird mood and decided to check my matches list. There are actually some intriguing guys interested in me and some in my matches list that seem worth contacting.

So, tonight I uploaded a few "cute" pictures and have decided I'll see if I get more "Interested in You" results; if I do, then I'll cough up some money and pay so I can get to know some of these guys. What have I got to lose really? I'll get a few free dinners, some new dating stories to add to my lists of 1- what you don't want to have happen on a date and 2- what happens when you like someone, and maybe even find someone who thinks I'm great!

In my analogy that single's wards are like tracting (not super effective but something you do to "put yourself out there") then is on-line dating like passing out pass-along cards and hoping for a referral?!?

I dont know if you knew this or not, but I met my hubby on ldssingles.com. For real! Also, my best friend met hers on there also (we both did it together...and it worked!)

It sounds silly to most people, but I honestly think it works. If you try, you may get something out of it! Good luck!
