Today we left SLC around 7:30 and arrived in Ogallala, Nebraska about 6:45pm. Not too shabby considering we spent a good couple of hours in a dark cloud and insanely heavy rain. Can I just say, I hate driving in heavy, heavy rain!? On a plus side, in between a couple of rain showers along I-80, we saw the most amazing rainbow. It was a full arc from ground to ground over the freeway and stayed there forever! There is this weird tradition my grandma started right after she graduated from high school-- you have to honk at the town of Sinclair, Wyoming. She and some friends had a picnic in the part right off the freeway about 60 years ago and ever since then, she always honks going past. This little tradition is still done by my dad when he passes by, too. Aren't traditions funny?!
On a side note: I'm really grateful for free wireless internet at Super8 so I could get part one of my homework done tonight :)
