I passed!

After messing up one of my Taekwon Do routines on Saturday, I've been afraid that I didn't pass and I wouldn't be able move up in rank. I'm talking, having to stop in the middle of my routine because my mind went totally blank and just look at the judges (all 8 of them) with my face, I'm sure, turning brighter and brighter red with sweat dripping down my face. I was able to do it again, thankfully! All the other skills I had to demonstrate I felt were good but with all those people just staring at me made me really nervous. (the pic I found on the internet, but it's what testing looked like-- all lined up and doing stuff at the same time)

In class today, my instructor (who wasn't at testing) said that they main TKD guy in SLC said that I did very well (within the top 5 of the 20 people who tested) and was impressed by my kicks. There are a couple little things to work on, but I did well and I'm moving up in rank :)

Today, I got to learn my last skill before moving up in rank again-- hopefully in Oct I'll be testing will get a new belt!

Great Job! My sister and I studied karate with a private teacher for like 10 years. My Mom wanted us to be able to throw a punch and defend ourselves. I remember going through those tests. Ah memories! Before I got married I wanted to start taking karate classes again. It's great exercise. Keep it up! =)
