At 3:27 am this morning I was jolted awake by my ringing phone, which for some reason was on way too loud. Wondering what was wrong in the world, I extricated myself from my very cozy and warm bed, stumbled down the hall to find where I'd plugged my phone in in the kitchen, only to discover that I didn't know the showing number. Thinking it was just a mistake, I waited until it stopped ringing before going back to bed. Then, I heard my little notice that there was a voice mail. Curiosity got the best of me and so I got back up, found my phone again, and listened.
"Hi Adrienne. This is Grace. I'm almost at your house. I'm at 4700 South and about 2100 East."
What the heck?!?!?!
I don't know a single person named Grace, or did she say Faith? I don't know anyone named Faith, either. With my heart suddenly pounding wondering who on earth knows me and where I live, I went back to bad, all the while making contingency plans in my head in case something weird happened in the next little while.
After a couple of minutes, I had finally calmed my heart down enough to go back to sleep, when the phone rang again! AGH!
I got back up, heart seriously pounding now, I checked my phone again and it was the same number. Seriously? It's like 3:35 in the morning. Who is coming and why?!
I didn't answer and didn't check the voice mail when it beeped again. Back in bed, I was planning out who I'd call if someone weird pounded on my door or how I could escape if need be. (I finally decided on calling the property manager and sneaking out my bed room window if it came to that.) My heart kept pounding and I kept praying that it would be ok. After wondering about Grace/Faith, in my semi-delusional 3:30am state, I wondered if maybe it was a prank call and they had actually said, "Santa Claus." Then, I lay there wondering who has my number that would prank call at that ungodly time of day.
Around 4:20, I checked the clock again and realized that no one came, no one called again so I was probably safe but found myself highly irritated at losing an hour of sleep in the middle of the night for no reason!
Later, at school, I listened to the message left at 3:35 and heard:
"Adrienne, I'm outside waiting for you. I can probably wait for a few minutes. It's 3:35 so I hope to see you soon."
Hmm . . . half-way tempted to call back and see if this woman found who she was looking for, I decided against it and have just tried not to be concerned about going to bed tonight. I think maybe she was looking for another Adrienne but somehow found my number? Who knows? Who cares so long as it doesn't happen again.

Ok, that's a little creepy... I'm not sure I would have been able to go back to sleep! Hopefully it didn't happen again last night!
You seriously have the weirdest experiences ever.
