So mom got her port put in and everything went well. Having the port made getting chemo much easier for her on Friday. She's lost more weight because she still isn't keeping much down and is throwing up a lot. She had a follow up visit with her surgeon last Wed up at the Huntsman where he said he huge opening has healed well enough that she can shower! Yeah! So, Thursday, she took her first shower in 6 weeks! His main concern right now is nutrition since she's not keeping any weight on and looks really, really, really skinny (she's maybe a size 2). Yesterday she had to go in for 2 IV bags due to dehydration and got another bag today.

She loved seeing all her siblings this weekend and loved having them all come visit her. It's so fun seeing the seven siblings all together- even though they haven't lived together for 30 years, they have a lot in common still, they laugh the same and still really love each other. I hope my seven siblings and I will have the same relationships when we're older.

I'm glad your mom had a positive time with family--she needs a break!

Oh, I am glad that the chemo process is at least a little better. And how great it is that all of her siblings get together and laugh and have fun, and I know you will with yours, your family is amazingly close. Thank you for sharing your mom's progress, it means so much to hear how she is doing. ~ Venita Dimmick
