important day chart

My parent's anniversary is tomorrow (34 years) and I wanted to do something for my dad. Poor guy. I talked to him a few months ago about something to help him remember everyone's birthdays and anniversaries and after looking on Pinterest and Google, I headed to Hobby Lobby to find materials. Here is what I created.

I'm really happy with how it turned out!

I found the Eiffel Tower ribbon and since my dad loves Paris, decided to use that as the border and hot glued it on. The months are stickers. The other Eiffel Tower images are from a set of Paris stickers I found. The word "family" was printed on colored paper and then mod podged onto foam board.

I cut 1 in circles (using a punch) of the blue paper and hand wrote everyone's names on them. Then, I attached a plastic circle on top and wrote the date in permanent marker (blue = boys, red = girls, green = anniversary). I hot glued the paper inside of a bottle cap. (I found the bottle caps at Hobby Lobby on sale 40% off. But Michael's sells them cheaper-- they are in the bead section)

Finally, I attached the bottle caps to the ribbon using Velcro dots.  I went with Velcro so that as the family expands, it will be easy to add on and keep the dates in order. I'm going to give him a bag with additional supplies for new people (like my brother's new baby coming in August and Laurel's future husband in October).

(and yes, ps, this is going on Pinterest!)
