followup

The follow-up article to this morning's news about the teacher from my school being charged for child abuse is on KSL.

It's been interesting to read all the comments on the articles about this pop can incident; for the most part, everyone is complaining that the student is getting away with being disrespectful and while the teacher should have reacted better, this isn't child abuse.

In her defense, I will say that the special ed department has had a tough year this year. Their classes are larger than they should be. We are on block schedule (70 min classes). Each teacher has a larger stack of case files to manage than ever before. We have a lot of chaos/change/inconsistency at school that contributes to students acting up.

I guess it's good this happened during Spring Break. I can't imagine the chaos, rumors, etc that would be happening if we were all in school right now.

We still haven't gotten any email or anything from the admin about this.
